Summary:
K-Plus Engineering completed a Wetland Delineation of approximately 30 acres of
land adjacent to the southern boundary of the Glenwoodie Golf Course located in
Glenwood, Illinois.
Jurisdictional wetlands on the site were determined based upon the criteria established
by the Nat ural Resources Conservation Service and by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
in the 1987 Wetland Delineation Manual (using the Regional Supplement). Areas of
known and suspected wetlands were closely examined during the investigation. When
wetlands were encountered the entire perimeter of the suspect wetland was inspected
and several passes were made through the area to identify vegetation, soil, and
hydrology indicators. After completion of the wetland delineation procedure, the
boundary of the areas determined to be wetlands were flagged. The boundaries of
the wetlands were flagged using both topographic, vegetation and soil features.
The sampling points and wetland boundaries were mapped on an aerial photograph.
K-Plus determined four distinct areas on the parcels to be wetlands under the federal
jurisdiction of the Army Corps of Engineers. K-Plus also examined surrounding areas
that would be suitable for any wetland mitigation that would need to be completed
for any future projects in the area.
