Summary:

K-Plus Engineering has provided the Village of Crestwood engineering consulting for stormwater and drainage projects in the community. K-Plus worked with Village staff to identify engineering projects that would be necessary to address areas within the community that regularly experienced flooding.

Lavergne Drainage Basin
K-Plus is designing a detention basin and ditch improvement at 14ih Street and Lavergne Avenue. The project includes improvements to the culvert at 147th that regularly experiences overtopping conditions making 147th (Midlothian Turnpike) impassable. K-Plus is performing the engineering design and working on bid documents to expedite the project for inclusion in the MWRD local assistance program of 2014.

135th Street and Central Avenue
K-Plus assisted the Village by performing an investigation to the project site to determine a means to address drainage for over 50 homes that are regularly experiencing drainage concerns. Investigation was carried further when erosion and stabilization concerns were identified at Laramie Creek. The conceptual plan was revisited and it was identified that the sewer draining the area ofthe berm discharged at the creek. The plan was revised expanding the scope of work to examine the conveyance of the sewer along 135th Street and detention options near Nathan Hale School to provide relief for the subdivision. K-Plus prepared a submittal to the MWRD and the project was placed on a funded project by the district in September of 2013. The project will proceed to design in the summer of 2014.
